This one-year-old boy is looking for his furever home! Let's learn more about this week's pet of the week!

The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.
The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! That's why we are excited for this new partnership with WHS to feature a pet of the week every Thursday! Let's meet this week's Pet of the Week

Sometimes you see a dog, and it just defines "man's best friend." That's exactly the case with Remington. He's the kind of dog that looks like he could just be your sidekick. Here's what the Warrick Humane Society had to say about our little friend, Remington:

Remington is a 1-year-old Rhodesian Ridgeback who is searching for his furever home. He was surrendered to us because his previous owners felt he was more work than they could manage. While the shelter environment has been a bit overwhelming for him, once he’s in a home and feels comfortable, his sweet personality truly shines.
Remington is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, and prevention, is microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered — he’s ready to go home! He does great with all people and is both house trained and crate trained.
Remington will need a home without cats. While we believe he could potentially live with another dog given proper time, effort, and training, he is not likely to transition seamlessly into a multi-dog home right away. We have also been told that he resource guards high-value items such as food, toys, or his person, so he would do best with an experienced dog owner who can continue working with him and provide structure and guidance.
If you’re interested in adopting Remington, please fill out an application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption or in person at the shelter. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. You’re also welcome to stop by and meet him — we’re open Wed–Thu from 12–7 and Fri–Sun from 12–4.

If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, Remington is waiting! You can meet him at the WHS today!
