Warrick Humane Society Pet of the Week: Chuck E.

Say "cheese," Chuck E.! This adorable little boy is our pet of the week, and we need to help him find his furever home!

The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.

The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! Meet our Piece of Cake Pet of the Week, Chuck E.!

Chuck E. is a 1.5-year-old Beagle mix who is looking for his forever home.
Chuck E. may be a little timid when meeting new people, but once he knows you're a friend, you'll discover what a sweet, affectionate boy he truly is. Recently, a volunteer took him on an outing to Friedman Park, Pet Supplies Plus, and Culver's, where he got to show off just how wonderful he is outside of the shelter environment.
He enjoyed a long walk on the nature trails, walked beautifully on a leash, rode calmly in the truck, and was relaxed around other animals while shopping. At Culver's, Chuck E. patiently waited while the volunteer ate, never begging or trying to steal food, and he accepted treats with the gentlest manners. He even enjoyed a pup cup and a special bakery treat from Pet Supplies Plus.
One thing became especially clear during his adventure: Chuck E. absolutely loves affection. He's a true lap dog who happily soaks up kisses and enjoys being close to his favorite people. While he can be nervous around strangers at first and may try to hide until he feels safe, giving him a little patience and letting him approach at his own pace is all it takes for his loving personality to shine.
Chuck E. is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, and is neutered. He is ready to go home!
If you're interested in adopting Chuck E., please fill out an adoption application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. You're also welcome to come meet him. We're open Wednesday and Thursday from 12–7 and Friday through Sunday from 12–4.
