You could fall in love with Selena! This adorable girl is our pet of the week, and we need to help her find her furever home!

The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.
The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! That's why we are excited for this new partnership with WHS to feature a pet of the week every Thursday! Let's meet this week's Pet of the Week

Meet our Piece of Cake Pet of the Week, Selena!

Selena is a 1-year-old Husky mix who is looking for her forever home.

Selena has been waiting 80 days for someone to choose her, and we know her perfect family is out there. She has spent time in foster homes where she proved just how wonderful she is outside of the shelter environment.

During her time in foster care, Selena showed that she is fully house trained, crate trained, rides wonderfully in the car, and walks beautifully on a leash. She loves kids, enjoys meeting new people, and thrives when she's spending time with her family.

If you're looking for an active companion, Selena is ready for every adventure. She loves playing ball, carrying around her favorite toys, going for walks with our volunteers, and playing with her best dog friend, Roxie, at the shelter. She has a joyful personality that's sure to keep you smiling.

Selena also loves other dogs, but she can get so excited during playtime that she doesn't always realize when another dog is ready for a break. Because of this, she'd do best with another playful dog who enjoys her energetic style or with a family willing to continue helping her build good social manners. She's learned and grown a lot with the help of her playmates here at the shelter!

Selena's only real restriction is that she needs a home without cats.

Selena is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, prevention, is spayed, microchipped, and is ready to go home! Her adoption fee is 20% off.

If you're interested in adopting Selena, please fill out an adoption application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. You're also welcome to come meet her. We're open Wednesday and Thursday from 12–7 and Friday through Sunday from 12–4.

If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, Selena is waiting. Don't wait; you can meet him at the WHS today!
