Meet Hector! The Warrick Humane Society Pet of the Week
Ole Hector is eagerly awaiting the perfect family to share his love with! This adorable boy is our pet of the week, and we need to help him find his furever home!

Meet our Piece of Cake Pet of the Week, Hector!

I've seen dogs with human names in the past. Honestly, I love dogs with human names. What makes those names great is when those dogs actually look like that name. You know what I mean? I'm sure you've met someone named Steve and thought, "he looks like a Steve." Well, that's the case with our Warrick Humane Society Pet of the Week, Hector. Here's what the Warrick Humane Society had to say about him:
Hector is a 2-year-old Boxer mix who is looking for his forever home.Hector came to us from Evansville Animal Care & Control, and after 85 days at the shelter, this sweet boy is more than ready for a fresh start. Shelter life has started to wear on him, and lately, Hector has seemed a little defeated. We would love nothing more than to see him leave the shelter behind and discover just how wonderful life in a loving home can be.Hector is a very sweet boy who loves people and absolutely loves getting pets. He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he gets comfortable, his affectionate personality shines through. He is curious, playful, and enjoys spending time with his people.Hector walks well on a leash and is generally a calm guy. He has also been cat tested and did great in our cat room, so we're happy to say that cats may be a potential match for him! When it comes to other dogs, Hector is selective. He shows interest in other dogs and loves to play, but he isn't necessarily the perfect match for every canine companion. Because of this, we recommend that any other dogs in the home come in for a meet and greet to make sure everyone is a good fit. After 85 days of waiting, Hector deserves a family who will give him the chance to decompress, settle in, and finally feel like he belongs. He has so much love to give, and we know there is a family out there who will appreciate this sweet, affectionate boy for exactly who he is.Hector is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, and prevention, and is neutered. He is ready to go home!If you're interested in adopting Hector, please fill out an adoption application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. You're also welcome to come meet him. We're open Wednesday and Thursday from 12–7 and Friday through Sunday from 12–4.
If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, Hector is waiting. Don't wait; you can meet him at the WHS today!
