This one-year-old Huskie is looking for her furever home! Let's learn more about this week's pet of the week!

The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.
The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! That's why we are excited for this new partnership with WHS to feature a pet of the week every Thursday! Let's meet this week's Pet of the Week

Meet our Piece of Cake Pet of the Week, Juno!

This girl is beautiful. However, she hasn't had the best luck with finding her furever home. So our goal is to change that! Here's what the Warrick Humane Society had to say about our little friend, Juno:

Juno is a 1-year-old Husky mix who is once again searching for her forever home. She has now been back with us for 130 days, making this her third stay at the shelter — and each return has been through no fault of her own. Juno is a sensitive, still-learning pup who needs patience, structure, and time to feel safe, and unfortunately she has not yet been given the opportunity to fully settle and succeed in a stable home.

Despite the instability she’s experienced, Juno continues to show us what a loving and intelligent dog she truly is. She does great with other dogs, did wonderfully with cats in her first home, and can do well with kids as long as they are calm and respectful of her space. In previous homes, she has shown some resource guarding around human food if she gains access to it, so supervision and consistency are important.

Juno is leash trained, rides well in the car, knows several commands, and is incredibly smart — she even knows how to ring a bell to go outside. She loves to run, play fetch, and will happily work for treats. Like many young dogs, she is still learning appropriate chewing habits and continuing to improve her housetraining, especially during times of stress or transition.

Juno can be nervous in new situations and around unfamiliar people, particularly men and rambunctious children, but once she feels safe and comfortable, she is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and loyal. She needs a committed adopter who understands that adjustment takes time and who is willing to let her decompress, build trust, and grow at her own pace.

Juno is up to date on vaccines, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and spayed — she’s ready to go home. To help her find the right match, her adoption fee is currently 20% off.

If you’re ready to give Juno the stability, patience, and love she’s been waiting for, please fill out an adoption application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. You’re also welcome to stop by and meet her — we’re open Wed–Thu from 12–7 and Fri–Sun from 12–4.

Juno has been overlooked far too many times. We hope her next chapter is finally her forever.

If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, Juno is waiting! You can meet her at the WHS today!
