Meet Heath! The Warrick Humane Society Pet of the Week
This Miniature Australian Shepherd mix is searching for a loving home to call his own. Let's learn more about this week's pet of the week, Heath.
The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.
The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! That's why we are excited for this new partnership with WHS to feature a pet of the week every Thursday! Let's meet this week's Pet of the Week

Meet our Piece of Cake Pet of the Week, Heath!

This week's pet of the week is named Heath. I don't know about you, but I LOVE animals with human names. Especially when the name matches their personality. Here's what the Warrick Humane Society had to say about our little friend, Nugget:
Heath is a 4.5-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd mix who is searching for a loving home to call his own. While we don’t know much about his past, we do know he’s a sweet, energetic boy who is ready for his next chapter.Heath is up to date on vaccines, deworming, and prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered soon. He is heartworm positive, but Warrick Humane Society will provide his treatment until he tests negative — adopters won’t have to cover these medical costs.Heath has been reported to resource guard food in the past. We haven’t seen any issues with that here at the shelter, but it's something to be mindful of as he transitions into a new home. This boy is all about fun, activity, and affection. His high energy and happy personality make him a rewarding companion for someone who enjoys an active lifestyle. If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order received. You’re also welcome to stop by and visit Heath — we’re open Wed–Thu 12–7 and Fri–Sun 12–4.
If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, it sounds like Heath is an ideal family dog. You can meet her at the WHS today!
