America’s Worst Slum is Right Here in Indiana
This Indiana citywas recently dubbed "America's Worst All-Time Ghetto," and it's probably not going to come as a surprise to you.
Indiana towns are really a hot topic lately. When it comes to Indiana, we have no shortage of small towns with a few big cities scattered in there too. Everyone has small-town pride nowadays. Recently we have covered many of these towns in articles such as the worst small towns in Indiana, an Indiana small town that makes you feel like you are in a Hallmark movie, the best must-visit small town in Indiana, the best small town in Indiana, HGTV naming this Indiana town as the most charming in the state, and the most expensive place to live in Indiana.
Nick Johnson of Homesnacks/Roadsnacks fame is a guy who likes to rank stuff in peculiar ways. He's done some pretty interesting rankings in the past on his YouTube channel. Recently, I stumbled upon one of his videos about the worst slum in America.
If you guessed Gary, Indiana, you would be correct. A lot has changed with the city of Gary, Indiana since it was once praised in the classic musical "The Music Man."
We all have heard some not-so-pleasant things about Gary over the years, so I am not surprised by these findings. Recently, Gary was named one of the ugliest cities in America, as well as being named one of America's cities with the worst reputations. The question here is what can be done to fix the city's reputation and turn things around for the better?
Nick Johnson, recently traveled to Gary to get a first-hand look at what many say is the worst rust belt town in the United States. In the video, you will see abandoned factories, homes that have been destroyed, and hear from several interesting people who reside in Gary. Take a look.
