As it turns out, the website, Cheapism, found each state's strangest claim to fame, and it's pretty interesting. Especially when it comes to the roadside attraction that was named as Indiana's strangest claim to fame. Indiana's motto is the "crossroads of America," and there is no shortage of things to see along those roads.  We have things like a chainsaw garden and a house of bells, just to name a couple. However, one of those roadside attractions here in the Hoosier state happens to be a world record that also comes with the "strangest claim to fame" title in Indiana, and it all started with a ball and a single coat of paint.

According to Cheapism:

Fans of odd roadside attractions might want to check out the world’s largest ball of paint in Alexandria, where Mike Carmichael has been adding layers of paint to a baseball since 1977. After more than 27,000 coats of paint, the ball weighs more than 2½ tons, according to Atlas Obscura. Visitors are encouraged to help with new coats. It’s a lot of work.

Pretty strange, yet fascinating, right? Well, you can learn all about the World's Largest Ball of Paint here in Indiana and even find out how you can help make it even bigger by clicking here.

16 Indiana Towns with Dirty-Sounding Names

A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders. Take a look at this list. I guarantee there's at least one name that will make you chuckle.
