This handsome boy is looking for his forever home. Let's learn more about this week's pet of the week, Nugget.

The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.
The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! That's why we are excited for this new partnership with WHS to feature a pet of the week every Thursday! Let's meet this week's Pet of the Week

This week's pet of the week is an 8-year-old Cattle Dog/Husky named Nugget. Nugs looks like he needs some hugs...and he's looking for his forever home. Here's what the Warrick Humane Society had to say about our little friend, Nugget:

Nugget is an 8-year-old Red Cattle Dog/Husky mix who came to us after his owner could no longer care for him. He arrived with skin irritation, ear infections, and parasites, but with treatment and time, he’s healing well and feeling happier every day.

Nugget is a sweet, easygoing guy who loves people, enjoys walks, and proudly carries his toys around. Squeaky toys are his absolute favorite — they make him act like a puppy again. He can be anxious around unfamiliar animals at first but settles with time. He previously lived with a small dog and a cat and did well with them, and here at the shelter he made friends with a medium-sized dog as well.

He is up to date on vaccines, deworming, and prevention, and he is microchipped and neutered. Nugget is fully ready for a loving home, and we’re hopeful this is his week.

If you’re interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website, warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order received. You can also come meet Nugget — we’re open Wed–Thu 12–7 and Fri–Sun 12–4.

His adoption fee is 20% off!

If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, it sounds like Nugget is an ideal family dog. You can meet her at the WHS today!
