The highly anticipated arcade and outdoor ice rink in Boonville, Indiana will be open to the public very soon.

When it comes to things for kids to do in the town of Boonville, there are a few options. Most of these options are seasonal. For example, you have City Lake, Splash Park, and Richard's Pool in the summer. However, one Boonville family has taken it upon themself to help give kids one more option to keep them entertained in the town throughout the year.

Gregg Staten and his wife, Maira, wanted to do something for the kids of Boonville. As parents of two teenagers, they wanted to help provide a safe place for kids in town, as opposed to having to drive out of town, just to be a kid, and even help keep some kids out of trouble. So, they decided that place should be an arcade. Inside, you will find several arcade games, prize games, PS4 and X Box video game consoles, a virtual reality ride, and eventually, they will have a virtual reality room. Take a look at the photos below for a sneak peek at what you can expect at Handley's House of Fun:

Located on the corner of North 3rd and Sycamore Streets, Handley's House of Fun will be a place that will surely be the newest hotspot in town that kids and families will want to frequent. However, the fun doesn't stop at an arcade. No, the Statens have been working hard to build Boonville's first outdoor ice rink too! In fact, this is a first for Warrick County.

The good news is that we don't have to wait much longer for Handley's House of Fun to open up. They announced that they will have their grand opening this Friday to help kick off Christmas in Boonvillage.  I went into Handley's yesterday to chat with Gregg and Maira, and they said that on top of the arcade and ice rink being open to the public starting December 2nd, they will have pizza and raffling off a few table games. On December 2nd and 3rd, they will have free ice skating from 5 p.m. through 9 p.m. for Christmas in Boonvillage. Those who come out to Handley's will be able to enjoy ice skating starting with 1-hour slots, for now, to make sure everyone is able to skate.

Also, on December 3rd, they will be having pet pictures with Santa from 10- 12 p.m. Donations are encouraged, with proceeds going towards Warrick County Animal Control.

Handley's House of Fun will be a part of Christmas in Boonvillage this weekend, but they will be open throughout the weeks following. Their hours of operation will be:
Tuesday- Thursday 4:30-9 pm
Friday 4:30 - 10 pm
Saturday 12- 10 pm
Sunday 1-6 pm

Handley's House of Fun is currently looking for sponsors to have their own sponsorship banners along the ice rink as well. You can learn more about Handley's House of Fun, by checking them out online here.

How To Tell Someone You're From Warrick County Without Saying You're From Warrick County

There are several ways to tell someone where you're from without actually telling them where you're from. Let's take Warrick County for example.
