A couple of Evansville Police Department officers took a break from work to shoot some hoops with a few kids.

Officers Clegg and Reidford were on a call on S. Ruston Avenue in Evansville. Once they finished, they spotted a few kids in the neighborhood playing basketball. So they decided to join in on the fun.

One of the officers made a  bet with a girl that he could make a basket, she said that said he couldn’t. If he missed, he had to buy her Chick-Fil-A. The officer took his shot, and according to the kids, the shot was“nothing but net." However, the officer still got the girl a free sandwich from Chick-Fil-A.

In a world full of sad and negative news, it is so nice to see good deeds being recognized. Big or small, acts like this truly do make a difference. This is why the Evansville Police Department is so awesome. They take the time to interact with the community on such a influential level. From Cops Connecting with Kids, Guns & Hoses, 911 Gives Hope, to interactions like this. I believe that we have one of the best law enforcement agencies around!
