It’s So Hard To Say Goodbye: Farewell to My Friend and Morning Partner
Yes, We Love Boyz II Men
Travis and I are cut from a similar musical cloth, and whether he likes Boyz II Men or not, I think he would agree that it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterday. 12 years at any job is an accomplishment in today's world, but 12 years in radio is like winning the World Cup of radio. This is a hard business we work in, and the majority of the time, our families take the brunt of that. I couldn't be happier for Travis that he gets to work closer to home in an environment more suitable for him to be present to raise his children. I'm all for it, but that doesn't mean I won't miss him dearly. Here's a collection of some of my favorites to look and listen back on:
The Crazy Cool Way We Got Here
For those who do not know, Travis and I met many moons ago when Travis was in college. I was pseudo-retired from radio and working for one of my closest friends at Boonville Pizza Chef. Travis's father, Danny, was a delivery driver, and he kept telling me how his son would be great at radio. Danny and I had a great rapport, and I started to believe this kid of his might be alright. I stuck my neck out and called Eric Cornish. I told him this weirdo who likes wrestling might be a pretty decent part-timer. 12 years later, here we are watching you retire from radio. I'm so glad we have Pizza Chef to thank for meeting each other, and I have you to thank for bringing me back to the madness. I wish you the best and will miss you more than you know, Travis. YEAT!

Thank you to Piece of Cake for this amazing WWE-themed cake of Travis's favorite wrestler, CM Punk.

Goodbye Travis
