The flu is something that no one wants to catch, but if you could get paid to have the flu, that might be a different story.

If you have some PTO or sick days to burn up and would like to get paid a little extra cash, the National Institutes of Health is running a study that will pay people $3,300 to get the flu ON PURPOSE.

I mean, I could use the extra cash this time of year. The bills aren't going to pay themselves, and Christmas is coming up!

So, the National Institutes of Health want to monitor H1N1 (AKA: the flu) to better understand how the virus works and how to control it, according to ABC 11 - Raleigh.

They will give you a nasal spry to infect yourself with the flu and then they will see what happens. You'll be fine...you're surrounded by scientists and doctors, right?

Here's the deal. They are only taking 80 volunteers to go to one of their four locations. Two of which are close to the Tri-State, St. Louis and Cincinnati. The other two are in Baltimore and Durham, North Carolina.

If you would like to learn more about how you can get paid to get the flu and get contact information for the research staff, you can click here.

Good luck, and get well soon!
