Many companies have had a rough go of it lately, and Yelloh is no exception. The company has been around for over 70 years, cruising through neighborhoods selling frozen food products from large yellow trucks. Sales have steadily declined over the years, which likely led to the big rebranding in 2022, when the name changed from "Schwan’s Home Delivery" to "Yelloh." However, it looks like the new name wasn't enough to keep customers interested.

Yelloh's Ongoing Struggles to Stay Afloat

In October 2023, Yelloh shuttered 90 delivery centers, resulting in 750 employee layoffs nationwide, according to the Star Tribune. In July 2024, the chain closed an additional five locations in Kentucky, including centers in Bowling Green, Burlington, Winchester, London, and Prestonsburg. This latest round of closures resulted in over 50 layoffs, but it looks like things have not gotten better. Unfortunately for the rest of the company, the chain has just announced that it is throwing in the towel altogether.

Yelloh Announces Permanent Closure

According to USA Today, the frozen meal delivery service will cease all operations this fall. CEO Bernardo Santana spoke to the media, noting that the company is thankful to its customers and hard-working employees for everything they have done. Currently, there are about 1,100 Yelloh employees nationwide.

Yelloh Board Member Michael Ziebell stated in a press statement that the company has been struggling with ongoing nationwide staffing issues, along with food supply chain challenges, which he attributed to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The last day Yelloh trucks will be on the road is Friday, November 8th.
