A co-worker of mine recently noticed a friend on Facebook looking for restaurants that offer beef tongue entreés. Knowing my love of all things food, she asked if I knew of any to which I say, "Well, indeed I do." I knew from a previous visit that La Campirana off Burkhardt Road had them on their menu. I didn't have them on that visit, but was willing to make a return trip to give them a try, because food.

The ordering process at La Campirana is a little different than most Mexican restaurants. You choose what type of dish you want (taco, burrito, quesadilla, etc.), then choose the meat you want to go in it. I decided to go on the smaller side of things and ordered their street tacos just in case my tongue didn't take kindly to the flavor of the beef tounge, or Lengua (pronounced LING-WAH). What was the verdict? Check out the video above to find out.
