A Box Office Smash Hit

When Titanic came out it was an instant success in the 90s.  The movie Titanic was the highest-grossing movie in box office history grossing more than 1.8 billion dollars worldwide.   According to BoxOfficeMojo.com Titanic held onto this record until 2009 when Avatar grossed more than 2 billion dollars worldwide.

The movie follows the love story of Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Rose (Kate Winslet), but unfortunately, the love story ends in tragedy when the Titanic strikes an iceberg.  While the love story from the movie was fictional, the story of the Titanic sinking is not. You can read all about the real-life Titanic tragedy, here.   But for today, we're just talking about James Cameron's box office smash hit, Titanic.

Titanic Returns to Theaters 25 Years Later

Titanic was released in December of 1997, making the movie officially 25 years old.  To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Titanic, the movie is making its way back to theaters, only this time you can see it like never before because you can catch it in 4K and 3D.
