Whether it's good or bad, the internet is talking about Indiana cities, and that trend continues. Now, let's talk about Boomtowns. You might be wondering what exactly a Boomtown is. According to GoBankingRates:

The word sounds like it’s describing an explosion — and in a way, it is. Boomtowns are fast-growing cities, due to rapid business and population growth.

GOBankingRates found one in every state by looking at the changes in population, housing units, and incomes of cities with populations of more than 25,000 but less than 500,000.

Heck, some Indiana cities are willing to pay you to move to their neck of the woods. However, when it comes to the city in Indiana that people are moving to the most, you won't find it on that list. So where are folks moving to the most in Indiana? Let's find out!

This Suburb Has Been Dubbed Indiana's Biggest Boomtown

Recently, one report says that everyone is moving to Fort Wayne. However, according to GoBankingRates, the biggest Boomtown in Indiana is Westfield. This city is located just north of Indianapolis and Carmel.

Here's the stats on Westfield:

  • Change in population since 2014: 15,836 (32.8%)
    • Population: 48,262
  • Change in per-capita income: 36.5%
    • Per-capita income: $58,223
  • Change in occupied housing units: 6,397 (35.8%)
  • Change in owner-occupied housing units: 5,138 (36.0%)

Being from southern Indiana, I don't get into that area of the state often. That being said I have been to Westfield in the past and it is a nice place, from what I saw of it. However, it still wasn't the first city that came to my mind as the biggest Boomtown in Indiana. What about you?
