It was a soggy start to the morning, but as promised by his brother, Conner, Shon Whitsoe kept the rain from falling during the race.  It was the 3rd annual Give Hope Run in Evansville to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and once again it was held in the memory of Shon Whitsoe and all the St. Jude patients who've lost their battle.

The rain came early, but stopped just in time for the hundreds of red balloons to be released in Shon's honor, then the runners and walkers to set out on the hilly 5K course at Burdette Park.  The first runners came in just under 18 minutes, and other runners and walkers followed over the next hour.

Participants later learned that a total of $108,246 was raised for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to help in fighting childhood cancer and other catastrophic diseases.
