The New Taco Bell Design Looks Like That One Bank In Loves Park
This bank to be exact.
I was just talking about this bank with my sister the other day. She says that it scared her when she was a kid. Our parents used to use this bank when it was whatever it was before PNC Bank. Fun note, this was the first place I used an ATM. A truly magical device when you were a kid. You just put your card in and money came out, I couldn't understand why we didn't have infinite money. But my sister said that the people in the bridge above always scared her and she thought she had to be on her best behavior in line because the people were watching her.
I was never scared of going through that drive through but I couldn't figure out how they got up there. Now an adult would obviously know that there are some stairs in there but that wasn't apparent to an 8-year-old.
It did obviously leave an imprint on me because that was the first thing I thought of when I saw the new design for a Taco Bell store.
All bank references aside, this does look pretty cool and a good idea.
They call it a Taco Bell Defy and one will be opening up in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota by summer of 2022. Here's how it works:
The innovative restaurant reimagines the traditional drive-thru experience with four lanes, three of which are dedicated to mobile or delivery order pickups, providing fast, skip=the=line service for customers who order via the Taco Bell app and third-party delivery services. These three lanes will supplement one traditional lane, easing the flow of traffic and ensuring a speedy experience. All of this will help Taco Bell Defy's footprint, which is smaller or equal to existing store footprints, serve even more customers.
When you think about it, it makes total sense. When was the last time you were actually inside a fast food restaurant? It's probably been 3 years for me and I'm not exactly shy about eating food that's not good for me. Let's get the drive-thru moving! Eventually, I don't want to even have to stop my car, just run through like I'm grabbing water while running a marathon.
Like I said before, I'm no stranger to fast food restaurant drive-thrus so I think I'm qualified to say this. Taco Bell already has the best fast food drive-thru service in the industry right now, so I'm on board with whatever they want to do. Seriously, have you been through a Taco Bell drive-thru lately? They almost too nice. I've completed at least 4 online surveys for them and those are the only 4 I've done in my life.
I don't know if they will be bringing a Taco Bell Defy to the Rockford area anytime soon but if they do, I know a bank that they might be able to retrofit to save on cost.
