This 2.5-year-old German Shepherd mix is looking for her furever home! Let's learn more about this week's pet of the week!

The Warrick Humane Society is an established no-kill shelter in Newburgh, Indiana. The shelter offers a safe place for animals to stay until they are adopted. Since the Warrick Humane Society does not receive any government funding, it relies on donations, sponsorships, and fundraisers to operate the shelter. They also have the Home Away Pet Spa, a grooming and boarding facility for the community, where all proceeds help the animals in the shelter.
The Warrick Humane Society has so many great cats and dogs in their care that need a loving forever home. So, there is an excellent likelihood that the WHS will have a pet that fits your lifestyle! That's why we are excited for this new partnership with WHS to feature a pet of the week every Thursday! Let's meet this week's Pet of the Week

First off, I love her name, Nana! This girl is beautiful. However, she's had quite the journey, and she's looking for her happy ending. So our goal is to help make that happen! Here's what the Warrick Humane Society had to say about our little friend, Nana:

Nana is a 2.5-year-old German Shepherd mix who has been with us for 76 days and is more than ready to find her furever home. She came to Warrick Humane Society from Evansville Animal Care & Control, where she was found running stray with a couple of other dogs, including her nursing pups at the time. Nana did an incredible job caring for her babies despite such difficult circumstances.

Now, Nana’s pups are grown and in homes of their own—and it’s finally her turn. She no longer has to struggle just to survive. Nana deserves a fresh start, stability, and a family who will love her the way she’s always deserved.

Nana is an incredibly sweet, gentle girl and was a wonderful mom. She enjoys affection, has a calm and loving nature, and is ready to settle into a home where she can focus on being a beloved companion. Nana does need a home without cats, but she does well with other dogs as long as they are a good match. She has so much love to give to the right family.

She is up to date on all vaccines, deworming, flea/tick and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed soon—she’s well on her way to being ready for her forever home.

If you’re interested in giving Nana the loving home she’s been waiting for, please fill out an adoption application on our website at warrickhumanesociety.org/adoption. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received. You’re also welcome to stop by and meet her—we’re open Wednesday–Thursday from 12–7 and Friday–Sunday from 12–4.

Nana has done her part. Now it’s time for her happy ending.

If you are thinking about adding a new furry family member, Nan is waiting! You can meet her at the WHS today!
