My wife and I have been married for nearly five years, and the anniversary of our very first date just so happens to be Feb. 15. And no, that’s not a typo. I asked her out on our first date specifically the day after Valentine's Day because the day itself felt like too much pressure. Unfortunately, for some, however, that same pressure has only intensified in 2025.

Hoosiers Aren’t Holding Back This Valentine’s Day
Vegas Insider recently analyzed keywords and phrases around Feb. 14 to see which states were looking forward to Valentine's Day the most. New Mexico, Iowa and Utah rounded out the top three, which might be a surprise to some folks. No offense to any of those states, but I don’t exactly associate romance with any of them. The same goes for Indiana, which just so happens to fall in the No. 9 spot. (Y'all, it’s time to start planning.)
Not Everyone Wants Love This Valentine's Day
While some states are looking forward to the big day, others are on the opposite end of the spectrum. Georgia is one of them. According to Vegas Insider, there were a staggering 1.1 million negative connotations when searching for Valentine’s-related words within the state, which worked out to 1,082.33 negative searches per 100,000 residents. (It looks like some folks are off the hook.)
