More and more people are moving to this Indiana city, and it might not be the one you'd expect.

Indiana towns have been a hot topic lately. When it comes to Indiana, we have no shortage of small towns with a few big cities scattered in there too. That being said, we have a lot of great places to live in Indiana. A few of those towns/cities have received national recognition for how great they are for residents. We might be known for corn fields, tenderloin sandwiches, and the Indianapolis 500, but Indiana is a great place to call home.

To continue on with that theme, there is an updated list compiled by moveBuddha, about the top city everyone wants to move to in each state in 2025. Heck, some Indiana cities are willing to pay you to move to their neck of the woods. However, when it comes to the city in Indiana that people are moving to the most, you might not suspect it at first.

Everyone is Moving to This Indiana City

Before we reveal that answer, it's important to know how this list was compiled. Here's what moveBuddha had to say about sourcing the data to discover the top place everyone is moving to in each state:

We looked at moveBuddha's most recent mover search data to compile a list of moves planned for 2025. The data used for this analysis includes searches made at any time between July 1, 2024, and March 10, 2025, where searches indicated they were planning to move at any time in 2025.

Only cities with at least 20 searches for moves both in and out were considered. That left one state — Hawaii — left out of this year's data.

We also used Zillow Home Value Index data (Jan 2025) for home averages and U.S. Census population estimates."

Now that we got that out of the way, Last year, Fort Wayne was the city that people are moving to the most in Indiana. In 2025, moveBuddha discovered that the most booming city in Indiana is none other than Greenwood. This city is a suburb just south of Indianapolis.

The average home value in this beloved boomtown is $308,031. Greenwood's mover in-to-out ratio was 1.48. While Greenwood might not get as much attention as a place like Fishers or Carmel, it's still a city that should not be overlooked.

So, it appears that Greenwood has a lot going for it. If you're looking to relocate in Indiana, it might be worth looking into.

16 Indiana Towns with Dirty-Sounding Names

A majority of these towns were given their names in the mid-to-late 1800s as settlers making their way across the country found unclaimed plots of land and decided to make them their own. While I imagine they thought the names they came up with were innocent, and perhaps a tribute to something in their lives, pop culture has warped our minds to the point since then that we can't help but think of something about the town that was never intended by its founders. Take a look at this list. I guarantee there's at least one name that will make you chuckle.
