As you may have heard us talking on air, yesterday was my first time at the Grand Ole Opry! Which is extremely surprising considering how much I visit and love Nashville. If you have never been, I strongly suggest going SOON! I’ve never gotten to experience such an amazing show before, and cannot wait to go back...

Saturday night was a special night for Keith Urban as it would be for any country artist that officailly becomes a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Urban, I believe, is the first non-North American born artist to be inducted into the Opry which is a shining example of the global reach of country music.

While several of the biggest 2012 ACM Awards will be handed out April 1 on CBS, others are announced early. For those awards that won’t make the televised time slot — Special Awards, Industry Awards, Musician, Bandleader and Instrumentalist (MBI) and Songwriter of the Year — the Academy of Country Music is hosting its sixth annual ACM Honors event on Sept. 24, 2012, in Nashville.
