The Tri-State has a lot more Hollywood ties than you might think.

Recently, I watched the movie The Judge starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. While the film itself was great, there was something intriguing about it.There were numerous mentions of Evansville in the movie because it took place in a fictional town near Evansville.

This was not the first movie to have Tri-State ties. Several movies have mentioned and/or been filmed in the area over the years. Here are a few...

  • Eight Men Out (1987)- partially filmed in Evansville.

  • League of Their Own (1992)- filmed in Huntingburg and at Bosse Field in Evansville.

  • Hard Rain (1998)- partially filmed in Huntingburg

  • Sorority Boys (2002)- Newburgh native,  Michael Rosenbaum gives Newburgh a shout-out in the movie.

  • Back In The Day (2014)- filmed in Evansville and Newburgh. Written, directed by, and starring Newburgh native Michael Rosenbaum.

  • The Judge (2014)- numerous mentions of Evansville and Vanderburgh County.

If there are any other movies with Tri-State ties, please feel free to let me know and I will update the list!
