Mmmm….Hot Chocolate with a Splash of Amaretto!
Another freezing night by the fireside, but, tonight I’m sipping some hot chocolate! Any cold or snowy day is perfect for a cup of hot chocolate, don’t ya agree? Here's a recipe for my own adult version of hot chocolate.
Of course, you can also omit the liqueur for a great tasting cup of delicious hot chocolate.
Deb’s Hot Chocolate-Amaretto Recipe
1 cup of skim milk
2 tbsp. of Hershey’s cocoa
2 tbsp. of sugar
¼ tsp. vanilla extract
½ shot (or more) of Amaretto liqueur (optional)
Marshmallows or whipped cream (optional topping)
Mix cocoa and sugar with 1 tbsp. of milk in a microwave safe cup. Stir well to form a paste. Add the rest of the milk and heat on high for 1 – 1 ½ minutes or until hot in the microwave at High (100%). Stir well. Add vanilla extract. Add a ½ shot (or more) of (Disaronno) Amaretto liqueur for a delicious twist to your hot chocolate! Yum!
