The American Cancer Society has been a leader in the fight against cancer for well over 100 years. Thanks to the organization's mission to raise awareness and funds to combat cancer, more people are surviving the illness than ever before. That said, there is still a lot of work to be done. In the fight against breast cancer, the organization has launched its 2024 "Men Wear Pink" campaign to help fund innovative breast cancer research and provide education, guidance, and patient support.
What Is the 'Men Wear Pink' Campaign About?
According to the American Cancer Society, the Men Wear Pink campaign was created to engage community leaders and influencers in the organization’s vision to end breast cancer as we know it. The campaign has been a tremendous success in previous years, raising over $50 million since its inception in 2013. Each year, Men Wear Pink ambassadors commit to raising at least $2,500 while wearing pink every day throughout October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Townsquare Media Joins the Fight Against Breast Cancer:
The American Cancer Society notes that breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, aside from skin cancers. In fact, breast cancer accounts for about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year. That's why we need your help. If you click on the link above, you will find that one of the Men Wear Pink teams features me, Travis Sams from WKDQ, and Bobby G. from WJLT. We’re all incredibly excited to take part in this effort and look forward to raising awareness and funds for this important cause.
We've got one month to raise $2,500, and if you want to help us, it’s not only deeply appreciated but also super easy to do. You may have noticed in the photo above that we are each wearing a pink bracelet. Each bracelet has a digital tag that will take you directly to a link to donate. So, if you see us out and about, feel free to come over and give. You can also donate to our campaign by clicking HERE.
