Cattle Baron’s Ball in Evansville Raising Funds to Fight Cancer

A brand new American Cancer Society event heads to Bally's Evansville Casino & Hotel this weekend, featuring food, live music, a silent auction, and more.

After coming off their latest fundraising efforts for their annual Men Wear Pink campaign, the American Cancer Society (ACS) is back with another great event. The organization is getting ready for their inaugural Cattle Baron’s Ball in Evansville, which will give folks opportunities to learn more about the organization’s mission and how they can get involved. The event will feature plenty of entertainment and fun for all in attendance.

What is the Cattle Baron’s Ball?

The Cattle Baron’s Ball started in Dallas, Texas, in 1974 and, to date, has generated over $98 million for ACS. In fact, some of country music’s most revered performers have entertained at the ball throughout its 50-year history, including Tammy Wynette, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, George Strait, Waylon Jennings, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, and many more. This year's ball will be the first for Evansville and will feature an open bar, food, and live music from Tailgate Revival.

"It's just going to be a fun night to come out, support cancer awareness, and learn more about the American Cancer Society and what we do within our community," said ACS Senior Development Manager Katrinka Rynder.

Cattle Baron's Ball Evansville Activities

In addition to the music and refreshments, the event will also feature a silent auction, which will include plenty of great items like custom bottles of liquor and TaylorMade golf clubs. Furthermore, the event will host a shooting gallery, moonshine tasting, and Boonville, Indiana, cowboy Cody Moseley, who has put together a roping workshop and demonstration.

Another interesting attraction at the Evansville Cattle Baron’s Ball will be a jail cell, where bond money will go directly back to ACS. Essentially, anyone at the event can issue a "warrant" for another person's arrest. The person arrested will then be "jailed" and have fifteen minutes to raise as much "bail" money as possible. It will be a ton of fun.

Cattle Baron's Ball Attire

The Cattle Baron’s Ball will take place this Saturday, November 9, at Bally's Casino & Hotel in Evansville from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Central Time. When it comes to attire, attendees won’t have to worry about putting on their Sunday best. Rynder noted that this event will have a casual country twist.

"It's going to have a laid-back country feeling," she said. "If you want to come in your boots, your jeans, and your hat, come on out, and if you want to come in your sequins, come on out."
