Tri-State Schools Changing Schedules For IU In Peach Bowl
The Basketball State Is Taking A Temporary Leave For Football
From the movie Hoosiers to the legendary IU basketball coach, Bob Knight, the state of Indiana has always been known as a basketball state. In the past, stores closed early, and fieldhouses were packed for the weekly high school basketball game. While times have changed, some things in Indiana will always remain the same. We Hoosiers take our sports seriously, and right now, we're proud to claim the Indiana Hoosier football team as our own. A Cinderella story, the undefeated Hoosiers prepare to take on the Oregon Ducks this Friday in the last game before the National Championship. In classic Indiana form, a large majority of high school basketball games scheduled for Friday night are being moved or rescheduled to accommodate those wanting to watch the Peach Bowl. A massive rivalry game between Jeffersonville and New Albany was one of the first games to announce the schedule change. Ironically, Jeffersonville's athletic director is former IU guard A.J. Moye.

Southern Indiana Schools Making The Change
Several southern Indiana schools have made athletic changes to allow Hoosier fans to watch the game. Castle and Memorial high schools have rescheduled their matches for January 24. Boonville and Princeton have rescheduled their game for February 10. Gibson Southern versus Heritage Hills and North versus Harrison have rescheduled for a day earlier, this Thursday, January 8. Multiple schools are still working to reschedule or find alternative options to allow fans to watch the game. Make sure to check with your school athletics department or associated communication outlets to find out if your team's game has moved and the associated new game times. Here's a more in-depth look at the statewide changes from IndyStar.
