Gas prices have been increasing a lot over the past couple of weeks, but where are they more expensive and cheaper in the Hoosier State?

It's no secret that gas prices are a little higher now than they have been. Gas prices are surging across the country as a result of the conflict between the U.S./Israel and Iran, alongside a seasonal shift to more expensive summer fuel. In fact, the national average for unleaded gas as of this writing is $3.912, according to AAA. Indiana's average price per gallon as of March 20th is $3.826. So, we have lower gas prices than the national average, which is nice. That being said, it's still more expensive than it has been in recent months. Needless to say, with those prices, filling up your tank is nearly impossible for some, as it would simply cost too much. We've all been feeling the sting of gas prices every time we fill up our tanks. Granted, prices aren't over $5 like they were a few years ago...but they are still pretty high, especially for those who drive gas-guzzling vehicles.

On the flipside of things, you'll be spending the most money on regular gas, according to AAA, in the following Indiana counties:

  1. La Porte County: $3.948

  3. Union County: $3.914
  4. La Grange County: $3.906
  5. Porter County: $3.902

So obviously, if you don't have to fill up in those counties, you could save some money at the pump elsewhere, if you feel like driving. AAA actually has a really cool map that breaks down the current average price per gallon in each county. It's up-to-date, and with how often gas prices change, it's a pretty handy tool.
