Fun Fact Friday- Chase Rice In NASCAR?
I have said it time and time again that I am full of useless knowledge. It's about time that I share some of that knowledge with you in a new blog called "Fun Fact Fridays!"From who wrote a song to just a random fun fact about an artist, you might be surprised by some of the things I have stored in my head.
This Friday, I want to talk about Chase Rice. After taking the stage last night for the St. Jude Country Cares Concert at KC's Marina Point, I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about what Chase was doing before getting into country music.
Fun fact for ya: Chase Rice was actually in NASCAR! No, we wasn't a race car driver, but he was in the pit crew for Hendrick Motorsports and worked under some of the biggest names in NASCAR- Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson.
In an article Chase did for NASCAR in 2015, he had this to say about his time as a pit crew member for Hendrik Motorsports:
I would work at the shop for both the 48 and 24 all week. My team did XFINITY Series pit stops for Ryan Newman and Michael McDowell, but on race days, we'd help out with 48 any way we could. What I remember is, no matter how small or big anyone's role was, from where we were at the shop up to Jimmie Johnson himself, everybody busted ass to make those cars as fast as they could, to make the pit stops as fast as they could.
You can read the full article here to read about Chase's time in NASCAR.
As if that wasn't interesting enough for you, NOT only was Chase in NASCAR before country music but he was also a contestant on the TV show, Survivor! On Survivor Nicaragua', Chase made it into the final three contestants and came pretty close to winning the whole thing!
