Cause of Death Released for Carmi IL Woman Who Had Been Missing
UPDATE: Unfortunately, a member of the search party found Brooke Naylor's body Friday afternoon just south of Pot Hole Lane in rural Gallatin County.
The coroner's office says Naylor died from hypothermia due to exposure. They will not be commenting any further until toxicology reports are completed.They usually take four weeks. Police are still conducting a death investigation at this time.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Illinois State Police is actively searching for a young Carmi woman, and they are asking for your help. 19-year-old Brooke Naylor was last seen in Harrisburg on March 3, 2019. According to the Illinois State Police:
Naylor was last known to have her brown dog, a Boxer, with her. Her abandoned Chevrolet Malibu was located on the Eldorado Ridgeway Blacktop approximately halfway between Route 142 and Route 1.
Volunteers have been searching the area where Naylor's car was abandoned. So far, they have no leads as to where Naylor may be. That's why they are asking for your help. If you have any information on the whereabouts of Brooke Naylor, please contact the Illinois State Police at (618) 384-9945.
