Owensboro Police have identified the suspect to an auto theft and kidnapping event that happened earlier this week. However, they still need your help locating this man.

Owensboro Police have identified the suspect who stole a car earlier this week that still had a child in it. Police say 19-year-old Jordan Terry was involved in a kidnapping and two auto thefts on Tuesday. The first vehicle that Terry attempted to steal was a manual transmission that he was unable to drive. That's when he stole the Oldsmobile with a seven year old still inside.

A warrant has now been issued for Terry on charges of auto theft and kidnapping. Anyone with information on Terry's whereabouts is asked to contact the Owensboro Police Department at (270) 687-8888 or Crime Stoppers at (270) 687-8484.

According to the Owensboro Police Department, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at approximately 3:30 pm, police responded to 3511 Frederica Street in reference to a report of a vehicle that was stolen with a child inside. Thankfully, the suspect released the child, unharmed, a short distance from 3511 Frederica Street. The suspect then fled the area in the stolen vehicle: a maroon, 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera (KY/LIC: 201RVK).

Neither the vehicle nor the suspect have been located at this time, but Detectives have identified a person of interest in the case. The investigation is ongoing. If you have any details on this situation, please contact the Owensboro Police Department
