Brittany Aldean knows it isn't always easy to love yourself — but she also knows it's important to figure out how to get to that place. On Instagram, country star Jason Aldean's wife is sending a message to everyone struggling to be okay with some piece of themselves.

On Tuesday (July 9), Brittany Aldean posted a meme that's been circulating on Instagram recently. The shared and re-shared message addresses the idea of constantly trying to lose just a few pounds and, in turn, sacrificing the sweet (figuratively and literally) indulgences that life has to offer. "Those extra 5-10 pounds are your spontaneity, your freedom, your love," the post ends.

"We are all hard on ourselves ... I'm guilty of it too. Ohhhhh so guilty," Aldean admits in the caption that accompanies the meme. "But this. This really resonates with me."

She admits that, after giving birth to daughter Navy — her second child with the country superstar — earlier this year, she "definitely had the baby blues ... I was just down."

Although she doesn't call her state of mind and body postpartum depression, Aldean describes it as "an unexplainable sad feeling."

"I was prescribed anti-depressants by my amazing doctor but decided to try a few alternative methods first by working out and eating better ... thinking happy thoughts, daily. It was a choice I made and ended up coming out of the slump I was in," she writes. "After all, god blessed me with two healthy, precious babies. What’s there to not be happy about?!"

The meme that spurred Aldean's message of self-love is about weight, but her words can apply to any tough obstacle in life.

"Life is just hard sometimes," she confesses. "Just want y’all to know we all struggle. There’s things not seen on Instagram ... things that go on in real life people don’t see .... so just know you aren’t alone!!"

"You ARE enough. EAT THAT CUPCAKE, GIRLFRIEND! You deserve it," she concludes.

The Aldeans, who are also the parents to a toddler son, Memphis, and Jason Aldean's two older daughters from his previous marriage, are currently building a new home. Career-wise, the country star is out on the road this summer for his Ride All Night Tour, and is working on new music.
