Indiana is Home to the Best Candy Store in the United States

According to USA Today's 10 Best Reader's Choice Awards, the best candy store in America is Schimpff's Confectionary. The Schimpff family has been making candy in the Jeffersonville, Indiana, area since 1871. G.A. Schimpff’s Confectionery officially opened in 1891 and is one of the oldest, continuously operated, family-owned candy businesses in the United States. And the coolest part?  The Schimpff family still owns the store to this day.   They continue to make the classic candy that you know and love to this day, and even have a candy museum.

This is the second year in a row that Schimpff's Confectionery has won this award, so that must say something about this historic candy store. If that's not enough, here's what USA Today had to say:

While Schimpff's Confectionery has been creating happy customers since the mid-1800s, this family-owned business has three very special candies that really keep people coming back for more. Their signature homemade hard-candy Cinnamon Red Hots are always in demand, as are their caramel-covered marshmallows called Modjeskas and their fish candies, a Christmastime favorite. Located in Indiana, just across the Ohio River from Kentucky, Schimpff's even has a candy museum designed to delight lovers of all sorts of candy creations.

LOOK: Here's Why Indiana is Pretty Much the Best Place on Earth [As Told by Hoosiers]

Reddit user, u/youcanneverbanme recently asked their fellow Hoosiers in the Indiana subreddit what they liked about living here. The question received hundreds of responses and the vast majority of them were positive. Of course, there were some that were negative because there are sad people who are perpetually angry on the internet and want everyone to know it for some reason, but we won't concern ourselves with those. We want to focus on the good, and when it comes to the good, there's plenty of it to enjoy.
