Anyone Know Why This Illinois Home is Completely Underground?
Something mysterious is going on here. I've seen some unique homes, but this one takes the cake. It's a home in Illinois that is almost completely underground? Anyone care to guess why?

If this is your home, I'm not judging. This is 213 N Mason Street in Deer Creek, Illinois. If you're not familiar, Deer Creek is just to the southeast of Peoria, Illinois. The home was on the market earlier this year and appears to have an owner now. Underground. Seriously, check out how much living space is in this part of Illinois under the Earth.

Based on what I'm seeing on Realtor, the home sold for somewhere in the neighborhood of $91,000 earlier this year. I could be misremembering, but I think the asking price was only $35,000? That's quite a profit, but then that's how housing in 2022 has gone. As it stands, it's one of the more unique homes you'll ever see...or at least think you see as most of it's underground. Nice roof, though.
