How Long Would a 5-Gallon Bucket of Pickles Last in Your House?
Apparently, ordering a 5-gallon bucket of Whole Dill Pickles is now easier than ever.

I like pickles, but to say they are my favorite food would be a bit of a stretch. That said, my wife absolutely loves pickles. In fact, last year, we grew a very unreasonable amount of cucumbers in our backyard garden. Upon harvest, they were all canned and made into dill pickles. They made for a great wintertime snack, but unfortunately we didn't have time for a garden this year, and our stash of homemade pickles has been depleted.
How to Buy a 5-Gallon Bucket Full of Pickles
Ahead of the upcoming winter season, my wife sent me a link to a giant bucket of pickles available for purchase online. Food Service Direct currently sells a 5-gallon pail of Kraft Claussen Kosher Whole Dill Pickles, which totals about 640 ounces, or 40 pounds. According to the listing, each bucket contains approximately 60-70 whole dill pickles; however, the pail must be refrigerated to ensure freshness.

This bulk dill pickle option will set you back about $135.30, which doesn't seem like too bad of a deal, as a regular 20-ounce jar costs $5.48 at Walmart. If you were to buy 40 pounds worth of the regular jar, you would be paying $175.36 before tax. While the bucket option is ideal for restaurants and food carts, it might also not be a bad idea for those who enjoy dill pickles on the regular. I have a feeling I may be making room in my refrigerator within the next couple of weeks.
