On the 4th of July, we celebrate the independence of our country from England. It's a very patriotic holiday filled with cookouts, swim parties, family lake time, fun and fireworks. For most people, the 4th of July celebrates our country and is the highlight of the summer. But, for others with sensory issues or PTSD, it's a very anxious and scary holiday. And some have very difficult time celebrating this time of year.

One of my favorite people on the planet is Drew Hebner. He is 13-years-old, wonderfully creative, incredibly funny, super sweet and has Autism. Drew's mom, Crystal, made this Facebook post to remind us all to be considerate of those who are sensitive to sudden loud noises, like fireworks.

Also, remember that many veterans who suffer from PTSD are also feeling anxiety during the 4th of July. Some pets have issues too.

If you plan on setting off fireworks, please let your neighbors know so they can plan accordingly to help avoid a very stressful and anxious situation.
