George Jones was laid to rest today, after a huge outpouring of support from friends, family, and fans in Nashville at the Grand Ole Opry House.  I found myself glued to the TV watching the huge number of friends that spoke and sang about Jones.  One performance really captured the admiration of the country legend.

Surrounded by an audience of George's widow, Nancy, former First Lady, Laura Bush, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Barbara Mandrell, Charlie Daniels, Kid Rock, and a list too long read of fellow artists, Vince Gill took the stage to pay tribute to his friend with a song he's been singing for years.  Even so, you could tell in this instance, Vince had never felt the song quite like he did today on the Opry stage.  Luckily, he had Patty Loveless there to sing harmony and help him compose himself on this day when the whole country music world mourns.
