A few years ago the We-Tip hotline began in Evansville. It's a place where people can call and anonymously report crime. Thanks to the We-Tip Hotline many notable cases have been closed in Evansville.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutors office recently posted some really interesting information to their Facebook.  From January 1-June 30 over 650 We-Tip calls have come in, making Vanderburgh County one of the most active We-Tip communites in the country! Law enforcement truly do rely on tips coming in to help with crime, so pat yourself on the back!

Here's what the Vanderburgh County Prosecutors Office had to say:

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office just received word that citizens have phoned in over 650 tips from January 1st to June 30th, which makes Vanderburgh County one of the most active We-Tip communities in the country -->

Of those tips, 63% were drug-related, 11% were concerning fugitives warrants, and 8% were related to suspicious activity. The other 18% was made up of tips concerning fraud, prostitution, counterfeit checks, crimes against children, etc.

Law enforcement rely on this information everyday, and we've seen tips from the We-Tip hotline lead to NOTABLE arrests in the past six months...so please keep calling 1-800-78-CRIME to report crime anonymously!
