Top Three Worst Coffee Chains are All Over Indiana
Are you purchasing the worst cups of coffee in America? You might be surprised to find what they are.
I'll admit, I'm not the biggest coffee drinker, so I can't even pretend to know all the different ways you can order it. However, I do know that there are millions of folks out there who think that coffee is to kickstart their day. Many of us need that caffeine to get through those long days at work, especially that last half. As you know, there are endless ways in which you can indulge with coffee. You've got different roasts, various flavors, iced or hot, the list goes on.
While many elect to brew their own coffee at home before they go about their day, there are still plenty of people who opt to get a cup of coffee on-the-go. Whether that's on the way to work or during a break, Americans are buying a lot of coffee. 400 million cups, to be exact. That's according to this study from TCMA. That same study also found the worst coffee chains across America. I have to admit that I was a little surprised by their findings, especially when it comes to the top three. All of which can be found right here in the Hoosier State.

Top Three Worst Coffee Chains are All Over Indiana
According to the study from TCMA, these are the three worst coffee chains in America. See what the study had to say about these chains and decide if you agree or disagree.
3. Starbucks
Yes, it’s true that Starbucks isn’t the end-all for coffee. In fact, it’s far from it. Regardless of the brilliant marketing, success, and cool factor that the coffee chain may have under its belt, this doesn’t change the truth that the coffee isn’t all that great. Not only have hundreds of employees reviewed the company for having a less than attractive work-life balance, the coffee often tastes bland, leaving much to be desired.
Starbucks has over 200 locations across the Hoosier State.
2. Tim Hortons
This Canadian coffee chain has expanded into the northeastern region of the United States, and while the customer service aspect of the company may be A+, the coffee often receives a failing grade. Claims have been made that “their coffee leaves their customers mostly disappointed as most of them claim it doesn’t taste like a real coffee. It is weak and watered down even if ordered plain black.”
Tim Hortons has five locations in Indiana, all of which are in Fort Wayne.
1. McDonald's
Coffee from McDonald’s just barely gets the job done if full and flavorful are your priorities. But more importantly, you may want to beware of the McCafe coffee machine’s level of cleanliness. One McDonald’s employee took to Reddit to warn customers against indulging in a caffeinated beverage at Mickey D’s. The employee claimed:
"I work for McDonald’s and make sure everyone that matters to me never orders anything that comes out of the McCafe machine, as these are routinely neglected in practically all the McDonalds. All McCafe beverages run through a horrifically dirty machine—we’re talking 5+ inches of uncleaned, liquid making up its inside parts."
While McDonald's serves up much more than coffee, as you know, coffee is a big aspect of those who enjoy breakfast at this fast-food chain. McDonald's has over 320 locations in Indiana.
