We've been fortunate to have a number of great Country shows make their way through southern Indiana since touring picked up again over the past year and a half or so following the COVID-19 pandemic. That trend continues with the announcement that Thompson Square will be making their way to the area later this year for a show at a popular southern Indiana festival. And, the best part is it's FREE!

Thompson Square to Play the 2023 Buffalo Trace Festival in Petersburg

The duo, known separately of course as husband and wife, Keifer and Shawna Thompson, have made a name for themselves over the years with a number of popular songs, including their number one hits, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" and "If I Didn't Have You."

Over the course of their nearly 15-year career, the duo has been nominated for two Grammy Awards and has won the ACM Vocal Duo of the Year award twice. They're currently working on a new album and recently told our sister site, Taste of Country, they've "probably cut...10 songs" for it so far. That includes their latest single, "Without You."

The duo will be the featured show of the October 13th and 14th event with their performance scheduled for the evening of the 14th.

Other Plans for the 2023 Buffalo Trace Council Festival

According to a press release from organizers announcing the show, this year's festival will also include carnival rides and games, vendor booths, a beer garden, a beauty pageant, a celebratory parade, and performances by other local musicians including The Duke Boys, 2 Miles Back, and Eighty-Sixt.

This year will be the seventh year for the festival which began in 2017 to mark the town of Petersburg's 200th anniversary.
