It should come as no surprise that the coldest city in Indiana is in the northern part of the state. It's the home of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, South Bend. The city is located close enough to Lake Michigan to catch that chilly lake breeze in the winter. Stacker says that South Bend is the 92nd coldest city in the nation. It has an average annual temperature of 49.7°F, an average daily maximum temperature of 58.7°F, and an average daily minimum temperature of 40.8°F.
