There are countless examples of awesome architecture in the United States, and one website says this Indiana building is one of them.

The Empire State Building, the White House, the Willis Tower, and the World's Largest Basket Building in Ohio, are all buildings that you can look at in amazement. As you know, we have so many buildings scattered throughout the United States that are simply breathtaking. I'm sure you can think of some even here locally. But which building in Indiana is the most beautiful?

The travel website, Love Exploring, recently made a list that features the most beautiful building in each state, based on TripAdvisor rankings. So naturally, I was curious as to which Indiana was the most beautiful in the state. Honestly, I couldn't think of a single building that I have personally seen in Indiana that stands out. However, just because I haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

This is the Most Beautiful Building in Indiana

According to Love Exploring, the most beautiful building in Indiana can be found in South Bend, more specifically, on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. It's the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. If you are familiar with Notre Dame, then you know all about this building. However, for those who aren't, here's what Love Exploring said:

The only building on this list to be located on a university campus, this church from 1888 is part of the University of Notre Dame. Designed by French architect Father Edward Sorin (who also founded the university), the basilica is one of the most striking in the country. A famous feature is the statue of the Virgin Mary, which sits atop the main entrance – the Golden Dome Madonna, as it's known, serves a symbol of the university too.

While I have been to the University of Notre Dame a couple of times, I have never visited the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. I must say, judging by that video and other images I have seen, it is without question, absolutely beautiful. A building definitely worthy of the title of the most beautiful in the state.
