Do you think you know what restaurant chain was recently named the worst in the United States?

Indiana has a lot of great restaurants that have been open for years. These restaurants have become staples in that area, and people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest. Everyone has their trusted go-to restaurants where they like to dine.

That being said, not all restaurant chains are created equal, right? Some are definitely better than others and there are quite a few that you downright avoid. So which restaurant chain is the worst in the United States? Well, that's sort of subjective. However, the website Far & Wide recently ranked the worst chain restaurants in America. So let's see if you agree.

The Worst Chain Restaurant in the U.S. Has 13 Indiana Locations

The travel website, Far & Wide, recently ranked the worst chain restaurants (fast food excluded) in the United States, ranked from "nope" to "I'd rather eat week-old leftovers." Now, the article doesn't give any methodology to the rankings, so it sounds like it might just be a personal preference. But again, a list of the best and worst restaurants is purely subjective because we all don't like the same things. That's why there's such a wide variety of restaurants out there.

That being said, according to Far & Wide, the worst chain restaurant in the United States is none other than Golden Corral. The all-you-can-eat buffet currently has 13 locations in the Hoosier State. What makes this the worst chain restaurant in the country (other than the negative stigmas that buffets tend to get)?

Here's what the article said:

We love buffets as much as the next person, but Golden Corral is a bad idea all around. Why risk your gut health by eating at this chain when there are buffets that sell things like delicious Indian food?

Golden Corral shouldn't be allowed to operate.

Even I must admit that's a little harsh. Personally, I don't mind Golden Corral. Especially around brunch time. In my opinion, there are much worse chain restaurants out there. Oh, and if you were wondering what the rest of the top ten worst chain restaurants were, here's the list:

10. The Cheesecake Factory

9. Red Lobster

8. Olive Garden

7. TGI Fridays

6. Applebee's

5. Buffalo Wild Wings

4. IHOP

3. Cracker Barrell

2. Denny's

1. Golden Corral

Are you surprised by this ranking at all? What was left off, and what doesn't belong on there at all? How in the world The Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden made the cut over some of the other chain restaurants we have is beyond me, but to each their own.
