Indiana Spot Named One Of USA Today’s Restaurants of the Year
One Indiana restaurant just received some very high honors by being named one of the best in the entire country.
Indiana has a lot of great restaurants that have been open for years. These restaurants have become staples in that area where people must go whenever they are in town. They are restaurants that can even become bucket-list places to dine at. Whether it be comfort food, burgers, fried chicken, seafood, Italian, Mexican, steakhouses, or any other type of restaurant, there are certain places that stand out among the rest.
USA Today released its third annual list of the best restaurants across the USA, picked from local food writers. We're talking about places all over the country, from the best steakhouses to favorite dive bars and everything in between. Out of all the possible restaurants all over the country, USA Today found 39 of the best restaurants in the country to compile the 2026 Restaurants of the Year. As it turns out, one of those restaurants can be found right here in Indiana.
Indiana Spot Named One Of USA Today's Restaurants of the Year
According to USA Today's 2026 Restaurants of the Year, the Indianapolis restaurant, Bluebeard, is one of the best in the country. Apparently, their pasta dishes are very impressive.
Here's what the food writer had to say about Bluebeard:
Guests crunch through colorful seasonal salads, sip from an expansive wine list and dig into chef Alan Sternberg's inventive pasta dishes at snugly cloistered tables in wood and brick alcoves lined with paintings, books and even a handful of typewriters. Overlooking the Cultural Trail in Indianapolis' Fletcher Place neighborhood, Bluebeard has drawn curious eaters since it opened in 2012 under the father-son duo of Tom and Ed Battista, and now it has reached another, different summit. Like the 1987 Kurt Vonnegut novel from which the restaurant took its name, Bluebeard encourages guests to drop their guard, surround themselves with other people and try something that frightens them a little. — Bradley Hohulin, Indianapolis Star
This is a high honor for Bluebeard, especially given the fact that not every state was represented on the list. If you have ever eaten at this restaurant, what do you think? Is it worthy of being named one of the Restaurants of the Year?
