School Lunch Prices Are Going Up In Vanderburgh County
If you have a student who buys breakfast or lunch in Vanderburgh County, you will see a price increase next year.
The EVSC board approved the price increase to meet federal guidelines under the Paid Lunch Equity requirement, a part of the 2010 Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act. This requires all schools to charge a certain price for meals based on reimbursement for free and reduced lunches.
Prices for Elementary breakfasts will increase 10 cents from $1.25 to $1.25 and lunches will increase 25 cents from $1.75 to $2.
High school breakfasts will increase 25 cents from $1.25 to $1.50.
Adult lunches will increase from $2.75 to $3.
This will be the second increase in High School and Adult meals in the past two years.
