I'll admit, I follow Sam Hunt on social media. I fan-girl out when it comes to Sam. I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it (including my husband who just rolls his eyes at me)! Well, I'm in love with his voice and he's pretty easy on the eyes too. Can I get an AMEN?

When "he" posted his new video for "Make You Miss Me" on Facebook I immediately clicked on it. I'm a fan girl, remember? It's really raw - raw footage and he's accompanying himself on some sort of piano. It was beautiful. I'm not saying that because I'm fan-girling. I mean it.

So, then I started listening to his other acoustic videos and I came up with some common themes about why I respect him as an artist/person and not just a pretty face.

  1. His voice is flawless without production. It's gentle and feels like... I could listen to it forever. Is there a word for that? I can't think of it. I guess it's just best described in a long sigh followed by an ellipses. Sighhh...
  2. He writes his own music and his lyrics are typically sweet and respectful. It's not all about girls twerking their butts and getting in his truck. I mean one of his videos tackles domestic abuse. Good guy. Really good guy.
  3. He's pretty. Wait, I'm fan-girling. Sorry...
  4. When he speaks, he kind of sounds like Tommy Lee Jones with an "aw shucks" kind of demeanor. That's epic.
  5. He's wearing a WWJD bracelet in this video. I really hope it's not a What Would Joe Do? bracelet or something stupid like that because I think it's pretty awesome when a celebrity publicly embraces their faith. There's also what looks like an iPhone in the video. I too am an Apple fan. If it's Android - well, I can overlook that.

Anyway, here's the video... I love it, Sam!

No, we are not on a first-name basis. I just like to pretend! One of my co-workers and I are trying to petition Sam to come answer phones at our St. Jude Radiothon next week. Here's to wishes and dreams! Ha!
