The Old Jail Inn

Located in Rockville, Indiana is an old jail.  According to the Old Jail Inn's website, the jail opened in 1879 and operated until 1998.  This particular jail was Parke County's first-ever jail and sheriff's office, and at one point the sheriff and his family used part of the jailhouse as their living quarters.

Complete with Drunk Tank

No jail would be complete without a drunk tank, but this sounds like a drunk tank you'd WANT to be in.  Just below the old jail is the basement that's home to the old jail's real drunk tank. It's also home to the Drunk Tank Winery, an interesting way to try out new wines and have a drink with friends.

Just below the historic Old Jail Inn is the Drunk Tank Winery. A small eclectic place to gather with friends and family and enjoy a non traditional, unusual and entertaining wine tasting.  You pick your taste- dry or sweet!  We teach you how to taste wine and laugh at yourself while enjoying the education.

Stay Overnight in a Real Cell

If you want to get the full experience, you can actually stay overnight in an old jail cell at the inn.  However, this isn't your hardened criminal's typical cell, it has been updated and renovated to be quite a comfortable accommodation.  But if bars on the doors aren't your thing, they have suite options available.

Five cell turned guest rooms with barred doors in tact are available. They share a bare-bones prison bathroom. These rooms, all named after notorious criminals like Jesse James, are great for groups, a bachelor party or family weekend. Leave your mark on the jail. The messages on the come from guests from 20+ countries.
