One Indiana Town Among the Top Ten Prettiest Small Towns in America
One small town in Indiana was recently named one of the prettiest in the country, but is it the town that you think it is?
Indiana towns are really a hot topic lately. When it comes to Indiana, we have no shortage of small towns with a few big cities scattered in there too. Everyone has small-town pride nowadays. Recently we have covered many of these towns in articles such as the worst small towns in Indiana, an Indiana small town that makes you feel like you are in a Hallmark movie, the best must-visit small town in Indiana, HGTV naming this Indiana town as the most charming in the state, and the most expensive place to live in Indiana.
There's a brand new ranking of the prettiest small towns in America by Have Clothes, Will Travel. Out of all the small towns in the country, an Indiana town found its way into the top ten. Naturally, I assumed that it was Nashville, Indiana. It's a beautiful small town full of locally owned shops, restaurants, and sights. Nashville and Brown County is the place to visit especially in the fall. It's absolutely beautiful that time of year. Brown County has been nicknamed the “Little Smokies” because of the area’s resemblance to the Great Smoky Mountains. There, you'll find nearly 16,000 acres of rugged hills, ridges, and fog-shrouded ravines.
That's the Indiana town that I immediately thought of that should be on this list. However, Nashville is nowhere to be found. In fact, the Indiana town that did make this list is one that I have heard of in the past, but have yet to visit. Perhaps, it's time to change that.
So, Which Indiana Small Town Made the List???
In the new ranking of the prettiest small towns in America by Have Clothes, Will Travel, the only Indiana town on the list was Madison. The small town in southern Indiana ranked as the sixth prettiest small town in America, which is a pretty high honor. In fact, it was also recently named as the best small town in Indiana. So, what makes Madison the sixth prettiest small town in the United States? Here's what the website says:
Madison, Indiana, is a town on the Ohio River in southern Indiana. It has over 130 historic buildings, including Victorian homes and downtown storefronts. Visitors can take a walking tour, shop in antique shops and boutiques, or participate in outdoor activities.
