Discovering the Tri-State, Monkey Hollow Winery!
I've been on a mission lately to really discover the tri-state. I sometimes get stuck in my little comfortable zone of Evansville, and I really want to explore the tri-state and try new things. This weekend we took an afternoon, and hopped in the car and headed up to beautiful St. Meinrad, to check out Monkey Hollow Winery.
Lately my husband and I have made it a goal to explore the tri-state and try new things. This weekend we ended up checking out Monkey Hollow Winery. To get there, you need to feel like you're going to the middle of nowhere, then go just a little bit further. It's totally worth it to, the view alone is breathtaking. I didn't know we had such beautiful rolling hills in Southern Indiana.
No pictures I took could do this view justice, so I took this panoramic video for you
Now, my husband and I aren't really very cultured when it comes to wine haha we just know we like alcoholic grape juice AKA sweet wines. Monkey Hollow made it easy for us to choose which wine was best for us. We were able to sample up to 6 wines for free. After doing the sampling we decided to get a cold bottle of Pasture Red (a sweet red wine) to drink on the patio of Monkey Hollow, and we also picked up a bottle of their blackberry wine to take home. And their prices were super reasonable, I think we paid $12 per bottle, which means we were able to sip on some wine and enjoy the afternoon super reasonably priced.
The patio was beautiful and had a view of their vineyard with rolling hills. There was a guy playing acoustic music on the patio, and it was really a perfect afternoon.
We will for sure be back to Monkey Hollow! It was our first tri-state winery experience, and we were more than pleased! I can't wait to check out some of the other winery's around the tri-state as well!
Do you have any suggestions of places around the tri-state we should check out? Fun things for us to do around the tri-state? Let me know!
